Personal profile
I am Makula James Mukasa.I was born on 21st November 1976 in Kampala,Uganda.I became physically disabled when Iwas four years old as a result of polio. I have been working for(Uganda National Action on Physical Disability (UNAPD) as a volunteer since 2004. I am grateful for this golden opportunity to advance my knowledge of disability issues so that I can help my fellow disabled people.
I went to the fallowing schools : 1 Kibuye Primary School for my primary level2 St. Peters senior secondary school and Lubiri Secondary Schools for my ordinary level 3 Busoga Collage Mwiri for my advanced level 4 Makerere University from where I graduated with a degree in Quantitative Economics in 2001 .5 I did Buisnes scills developement in 2000 for two months. I worked for a U.K. based organisation called Action on Dissability and Development as a volunteer for six months.I also worked as a research assistant for members of parliament for six months in 2005. I have been working for Uganda National Action on Physical Dissability ( UNAPD ) as a part-time volunteer since 2004. I was given a chance of studying in Denmark by UNAPD from August to December 2007 funded by Denish International Developemet Agency ( DANIDA )through Danish Organisation of Disabled People(DSI),the Umbrella organisation for dissabled people in Denmark. I can now contribute to the lobby and advocacy of political and economic rights, fundrising, strategic planning,developing a logical framework and conflict resolution.
UNAPD IN FOCUS UNAPD was started in 1999 with a vision of establishing a society where the physicaly dissabled have equal rights and opportunities as the able-bodied. This beeing done by removing all barriers that stand in the way of developement of physically dissebled people.UNAPD has 21 member associations. Activities being undertaken include the following: lobby and advocasy of human rights.awareness creation about HIV/AIDS and microfinance.

Uganda is located in East Africa . It got it's independance on 9th October 1962 with the first president being Sir Edward Mutesa. It has had seven presidents with presidenten Museven ruling for 21 years ( 1986 - 2007 ).Uganda has a total population of 31.6 milion people. Uganda has many tribes with the dominant tribe beeing the Baganda who are 8.5 milion. people. The source of the River Nile and part of the biggest fresh water lake in the world is in Uganda. The economy of Uganda relies mostly on agrocultura.
